Someone said that Khao San Road in Bangkok is “the centre of the backpacking universe”. Someone else described it as “a short road that has the longest dream in the world”. Both of them were right. Nowhere else in the world you can see so many backpackers in one place. Most of them starting or finishing their South East Asian trip there. Some staying longer than expected, often not leaving the Khao San Road area even once. Everything a backpacker needs is there – hotels, guesthouses, bars, clubs, restaurants, travel agencies, tailors, convenience stores, clothing and souvenir shops. The atmosphere is lively from early morning to late evening, but the street is at its best after the dark. See yourself why.
