A scene from Scindhia Ghat on the bank of the Ganges in Varanasi. It was a quiet afternoon and there were very few people at this popular ghat where men bathe before a cremation ceremony at the Manikarnika burning ghat. So it was me, this kid and a couple of adults. The light was special so I hung around for a bit near a place where clothes were hanging to dry. The boy was hanging around too, so I included him in a couple of the frames and in this particular one I managed to capture an unusual pose that makes this shot a little bit different. Just a split of a second when a normal situation looked mysteriously.
It is a picture from my recent photography workshop in Varanasi. I am looking forward to visiting this fantastic city again in February 2015: http://www.maciejdakowicz.com/workshops/travel-street-photography-workshop-varanasi-india-maha-shivaratri-festival-february-2015-asia/.
